MUTINDA WILDLIFE EDUCATION CENTER:
Participating in community Conservation
Location: kenya has 42 different tribes, each with its own cultural, linguistic and physical characteristics.
The Kamba tribe is found in eastern part of kenya and this is where 'Mutinda wildlife education center' is found. Kangundo is the name of the town and 70 kms from the capital city of kenya nairobi.
Preston's Birding & wildlife safaris is located at the same area.
Duration: Participate and join the local village families and schools develop conservation projects and help deliver educational programs on local wildlife and enviromental activities.
Stay with us at the village or overnite in nairobi hotels and drive to the center one and half hour drive one way. plan to stay as long as you wish.

Watch Kamba tribe traditional dancers perform traditional songs
Visit kamba wood carvers and see their carving skills.
visit local schools.
About the center:
It has been designed to simulate a Kamba tribe village hut with round buildings. A lecture hall/auditorium, display room, office, library and western bathrooms.
The center helps provide educational programs aimed at out-school youth and families, and provide educational programs on wildlife and enviromental quality that are not presently part of school curriculum.
Funded by Troy Rotary club in Dayton, Ohio and a group of individuals from USA.
Environmental Education & conservation Global is helping the center develop.
Preston received a scholarship for a three months interniship at Brukner Nature center in Troy Ohio through the Hartstein Favorite Foundation which is administered by the Troy Rotary club. |
